Privacy and security changes

UAB eLearning is making some privacy and security changes to Zoom starting in April 2020. Zoom had not previously supported end-to-end encryption. However, UAB eLearning has published a new whitepaper. It also offers users more options when it comes to security. You might be curious about how these changes will impact your Zoom meetings. UAB's privacy and security changes can help make sure your meetings are secure.

To prevent unauthorized participants, it is important to review the suggested security settings when setting up a Zoom meeting. Choose the one that best suits your needs. Zoom security settings will stop users from "ZoomBombing", so you can maintain everyone's safety and privacy. The University of Alabama System has taken security measures to protect their Zoom accounts. This includes turning off screen sharing, except for the host, "allow eliminated participants to join", and filing sharing.

Creating a waiting room

UAB allows users to create a waiting room. This is an easy process that lets them share information with others. A logo and a title can be added to the screen. These can be added to your screen by using the erase and pencil buttons. After the screen has been set, you can start to describe the waiting area. The 400-character limit for a description of the waiting space is not enough.

This option will become mandatory on December 22, 2021. This process could take up five minutes and require a password. To create a UAB Zoom US poll, first create a CSV File and then import the number you want to add. This poll can be edited and/or removed. You will see the results in a report. FAQ

What should my course in eLearning look like?

Your eLearning course design should encourage learners to interact with the material.

This means that the design should be easy to use and that the content must be clearly presented.

This also means that content must be engaging and interesting.

Three things are essential to ensure your eLearning course meets these requirements.

Content

First, you must decide what content will be included in your eLearning courses. The length of each section in the course must be decided. For example, if you want to teach someone how to write a letter, then you need to decide how much time you want to spend on each topic.

Navigation

The second decision that you must make is how you want learners to navigate through your course. Do you want them to click through every page one at a time? Do you want them to skip to the most important parts?

Design

Finally, decide how your course will look. You will need to decide how long each screen takes to load and what size font you want. It is also important to decide whether graphics (such as photos) will be included.

After you've made these important decisions, it is time to test your plan to make sure it works.

Do you need an Internet connection to eLearning?

It depends on your purpose. It doesn't matter if it's an online course. However, if you are going to use any kind of interactive features such as quizzes etc., then you need access to the web.

What is electronic learning?

E-learning provides an online learning option for individuals and institutions. It is a way of delivering information and instruction over electronic media such as computers, mobile devices, and other digital technologies.

This type of learning uses technology, not physical materials, to deliver the content.

E-learning isn't just for traditional classrooms. It can also happen at home, on-the-road, or anywhere else there is Internet access.

How can I get started in eLearning?

Start small if your knowledge of creating online courses is not sufficient. A tutorial or quiz could be a good idea.

This will allow you to move on to more difficult projects once you have mastered it. You can start by creating lessons with pre-built HTML templates if you are not comfortable with HTML.

What systems are used in e-learning?

E-learning is an online learning system where students learn from a computer screen. It allows for interactive activities such as quizzes, tests, discussions, etc.

E-learning can also include web-based programs that allow users to access information via the internet from a computer. This program is commonly called "online education".

What are some of the key obstacles to eLearning success?

The biggest challenge in e-Learning lies not in technicality but rather in culture. It's about people and how they interact.

Understanding their motivations and learning styles is crucial. Also, we need to find out what makes them feel most comfortable learning online.

This is where we have to find ways to make this experience as natural as possible.

How much multimedia should an eLearning class contain?

This depends on what you're trying to achieve. If you're looking for quick information delivery, then less is likely to be the best. If you're looking to deliver training that helps people do something, however, more might be better.

You must know what you want out of your eLearning course. Also, you need to know what your learners expect from the course. This will allow you to make sure you have enough content for your learners to reach their goals.

Take, for example:

To teach people how to use Microsoft Word, it is best to provide lots of examples of text documents. However, you should show people many types of Excel spreadsheets if you want them to learn how to use it.

You also need to consider whether you want to use video or images to illustrate concepts.

Video is great for teaching people how to do things, but it's not as good at explaining complex topics. It can also be very costly to produce. Although images are much cheaper to produce than video, they lack the same emotion and impact.

The bottom line: You need to be clear about your goals before creating an eLearning program.
